Is Viking Freight really free to use?
Yes! Viking Freight is completely free to use. There are no monthly fees, no subscription costs, and no markup on postage. We make money from a small portion of the discount we get from carriers, but you still save significantly compared to retail rates.
Do I need existing carrier accounts?
No, you don't need existing carrier accounts. You can create new ones through our platform, or connect your existing accounts if you prefer.
Shipping Rates
How much can I save on shipping?
Our users typically save 30-89% compared to retail rates. The exact savings depend on the service, package dimensions, weight, and destination.
How do your rates compare to USPS and UPS retail prices?
Viking Freight offers Commercial Plus Pricing for USPS, which is the highest tier of discounts available. For UPS, we provide negotiated rates that are significantly lower than retail prices. These discounts are typically only available to high-volume shippers, but we make them accessible to businesses of all sizes.
Are there any hidden fees or charges?
No. We're committed to transparent pricing. There are no hidden fees, no markup on postage, and no minimum shipping requirements.
Which shipping services and carriers do you support?
We support all major USPS services (Priority Mail, First Class Package, Priority Mail Express, etc.) and UPS services (Ground, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air, etc.). We're constantly working to add more carriers and services.
Labels & Printing
What types of printers can I use?
Viking Freight supports all standard printers, including desktop printers (inkjet and laser) and thermal label printers. You can print on regular paper or adhesive labels.
Can I print multiple labels at once?
Yes, our batch label printing feature allows you to create and print multiple shipping labels at once, saving you valuable time and improving workflow efficiency.
What label formats do you support?
We support a variety of label formats, including 4x6 thermal labels, 8.5x11 paper (with 1 or 2 labels per page), and more. You can choose the format that works best for your printer and workflow.
Can I customize my shipping labels?
Yes, you can customize your shipping labels with your company logo, return address, and other information. You can also save different label templates for different types of shipments.
Tracking & Delivery
How do I track my shipments?
All shipments created through Viking Freight include tracking. You can track your shipments directly from your dashboard, or you can use the carrier's tracking page with the tracking number provided.
Can I send tracking information to my customers?
Yes, you can automatically send tracking information to your customers via email. You can customize the email template and choose when to send the notifications (e.g., when the label is created, when the package is scanned, etc.).
What if a package is lost or damaged?
If a package is lost or damaged, you can file a claim directly through our platform. We'll help you navigate the claims process with the carrier and work to get your claim resolved as quickly as possible.
Do you offer shipping insurance?
Yes, we offer affordable shipping insurance options for both domestic and international shipments. You can add insurance during the label creation process.
